I have this pain in my lower abdomen, I dont know if I should go to the doctor?

I *feel* like I should... I keep getting these terrible pains in my lower abdomen, but they only last for a minute, but when they come I bend over in pain- its blinding.

and then in the middle of the night last night, I had a contraction or what felt like a contraction. Like my uterus had pulled in real tight all of a sudden and I grabbed my stomach and bent forward in bed ( i was laying on my side) but it never came back and I fell asleep an hour later.

It feels like it could be gas pains, but Im not burping or anything. I do have a fibroid and the doctor said when it breaks apart it could cause some pain.

I called this morning to talk to her, but they said she's not in today. I have an appt next Friday... Oh and I'm just 16 weeks now.

What would you do? Should I leave work early, cancel my weekend plans and put myself on bedrest?

I would call the doctor immediatly. My friend who is 18 weeks had the same thing and it turned out to be contractions and they put her on medication to stop the contractions. I don't mean to scare you, but I would call the doctor just to be safe.

I would call back and find out who is covering for your Dr.

It sounds like round ligament pain but I would call my dr. either way just to be sure.
