Hi! A few rooms in our apartment just got painted today (with latex paint) and I'm wondering if it's safe to breathe in the paint fumes?

Did you all stay in your homes/apartments the day that it was painted? Is it safe to stay here? Our parents live on LI so it's not hard to get there...but just wondering if it's necessary.
