When is it safe to tell people?

I can't hardly wait. Sometimes I say things that almost give it away. I feel like I have to cut off all contact with people or else I'll slip up. How long did you guys wait to tell friends?

I told after my ultra screen, about 13 weeks.

its really up to you...

Traditionally, people wait until 3 months because the liklihood of a miscarriage goes down dramatically then. Some people tell right away, others wait.

We've told a handful of friends and family already (I'm 6.5 weeks). Now that we've heard the heartbeat I'm feeling a little more confident about telling.

my husband wants to wait until after our 7 week sono... he then only really wants to tell family i want to scream it to the whole world. I did tell two people already, who i work closely with throughout the day. ofcourse i told my mother, i couldn't keep it from her!

Traditionally alot of people choose to wait until the first trimester is over because the risk of miscarriage decreases dramatically. That's how long I waited. Do what you feel is right for you.

I just started my 9th week. We have not told too many people. Since I was having a little of problems in the beginning, it was easier not to say anything, then explaining to all of his nieces and nephews.
We go back for another sonogram this week, to see how things are going and since we have a 50th wedding anniversary party for SH's parents this Saturday - we will most likely tell his family then - they will know somethings up when I am not with drink

At 15 weeks I can't keep my mouth shut- but until now, I only told my close friends. Our immediate families knew the day we did- but I didn't tell my close friends until after the first trimester was over and I saw the sonogram and heartbeat.

We told everyone just recently after my 12 week appt when we were told everything was okay. We suffered a loss with my first pg, and didn't want to jump the gun. I still haven't told many people yet, just my extended family.

I told right away. I guess it's all up to how you feel. Go with your instincs.

We told immediate family right away. We told close friends and family at 9 weeks after we had seen our son's heartbeat. We told others at 13 weeks.

We just told everyone last night
I'm 9 weeks. My doctor had said at my last sono that everything was looking really good, and that it was up to me but that she felt it would be ok to break the news.

I told family and close friends right away...everyone else we waited until I was around 12-13 weeks.
