My Throat is So Sore
I've been drinking tea, gargling with warm salt water, eating Sucrets, and using Chloraseptic...nothing is helping. This is my 3rd day of antibiotics too.
Anyone know of anything that might work?
I don't think my throat has ever hurt like this!!!

I drink OJ and take cepacol tablets - they are like sucrets but they have zinc - that seems to beat off most ailments I get.

I hope you feel better!  You could have allergies. This exact thing happened to me. Nothing was helping. Finally, one doctor put me on allergy medication and it worked.

You may want to take some anti-inflammatory pills like Advil or Aleve. Not only will they help for the swelling but also for the pain.

I just got over the same thing today. My throat felt like it had tabasco on it. I was dying. For five days straight. On day three, I was crying and I actually went to the hospital on Friday night and was given a morphine IV and fluids. It was terrible....
I rested a lot- barely got out of bed on Sat. Upped the meds to AUgmentin 875. Very strong.
The hospital gave me severe painkillers- percacet and then vicodin. Yes, painkillers were wonderful!
Feel better!
eta- I had blistering in my throat. That is why they treated it so aggressively.

Are you gargling often enough? My mom used to make us do it every 30 minutes. I used to hate it!

I just looked down my throat with a flashlight, and saw some white spots  So, now I am worried its strep.
I called the Dr and am going in later for another check....

Awwww, thanks for thinking of me.
I went back to the dr yesterday and they gave me a stronger antibiotic. My throat hurts less (like a NORMAL sore throat), and everything has now moved to my head, like a bad sinus infection. All I want to do is sleep.
