ok first the weather now....(mexico related)

First mother nature is taking away the beaches with all these hurricane's now I hear on the radio not to travel to Mexico because of gang fights are real big right now!!!!!!!!!!!
what to do? I am supposed to leave on the 21st of Aug. And now I am not to sure. I do have insurance but not to sure if that will be covered. I thin k if it was just me and dh I would be OK (we don't plan on leaving the hotel) but we are bringing my daughter with us , so naturally I am now worried. Has anyone heard of this and know what is going on? Any travel agents out there? If so please help! TIA!

Did you find out if your resort is still open after the hurricane? Danielle and I were supposed to go to the Grand Xcaret in the riviera maya Aug 11th but th resort is closed until October 15th, so we are now going to Punta Cana in the dominican republic.

My inlaws were at the adventura spa palace the week of the hurricane and they didnt experience any gand activity...your post was the first I heard of that

i heard it on the radio about the gang stuff. so i hope it is not ture. as for the hotel my agent said they did close for a few days but now back to normal. we have less then a monthe till we leave so i hope that everything is ok ! ty for the input

ty sooo much for finding this
i looked up cancun and it had some info on it about the gangs and it's true what others said we have them here too we don't plan on leaving the hotel because we will have our daughter with us but if we do like say go to the market we will leave her with the day camp at the hotel , she'll have a better time and we can get what we want faster! ty again!
