Started rice cereal and up all night!
I started Julia on rice cereal yesterday around 5:30 p.m. (she is 4 months) She went o bed around 8:30 and then she was up EVERY HOUR screaming until 1:30 a.m. At that point, I took her temp, and she pooped big-time. She slept well until 6:00 a.m. What do you think? Could this be related to the solids?

It could be. Rice is much more binding than the fluids, and her poop is going to change considerable once she eats a lot of solids. If she's a BF baby, it will be an even bigger change.
Maybe try giving her the cereal earlier in the day?

They say rice cereal can be binding....maybe she was constipated. Because Sidney had been constipated in the past the Dr. recommended we start with oatmeal instead. I haven't done it yet. Will do it after the holidays. She is 5.5 months. Hopefully today will be better. Good luck

I would suggest the oatmeal as well since it tends to be less binding. Poor baby (and poor mamma!)

Hmmm... I had a simialar experience...
I tried oatmeal with Ryan twice last week.....
The first night he was up every hour...the 2nd night was a normal night.... He also had an extremely LOSE stools...
I stopped the cereal...and the next day normal poop!

If it gives you peace of mind, I would certainly call him/her. But I didn't when I switched. And she was all good

That is exactly what happened to us. Are you going to lay off the solids for a while?

yea...I stopped it completely...
The DR never told me to try...but my mom swore he needed it...
Im just gonna wait and see what happens...my dr. had said something about discussing cereal at his 3 month visit..(which is next week) I am gonna tell him my exp... and see if we can hold off til next month...
Unless of course he says it takes a week for there bellies to adjust...then I might give it another try...

It takes time for their bellies to adjust...I started Joseph right on Oatmeal on Monday because I didn't want him to be constipated and he had like 2 days of fussiness because of (I think) gas and some belly irritation but now he's fine with it!
