My Feel Good Monday Story!!
Ladies - I just have to share this because it is so so surreal.
Some background - I have a very good friend who is originally from Bellmore and has lived in California for about the past 8 years. She was one of my bridesmaids and we haven't seen each other since my wedding (almost two years ago). We miss each other terribly, but don't keep in touch as often as we should (she's finishing her doctorate,etc). We prob speak a few times a year.
So - I'm running errands this afternoon after work and I go into Waldbaum's to get sushi for dinner and they changed their sushi and it's gross so I don't get it. So, I'm walking out of the store, on the phone with my sister, and standing in front of me is my friend from California
My mouth literally dropped open and I pretty much said to my sister - I have to go b/c I think I see a ghost. I have never felt more so like I was dreaming in my life - it was like I couldn't put two and two together - I didn't get it. It was the most unbelievable thing ever. So we're standing there hugging and literally speechless and the story was that she flew in for three days to see her mom (flew in yesterday) and they decided they wanted to take a walk on the boardwalk in LB. So her mom asked her if she was going to call me and she realized she left her cell at her mom's, so she didn't have my number. They stopped at the supermarket to grab a snack b/c they were hungry, and this was EXACTLY when I walked out.
This was literally one of the most surreal things that has ever happened. It really is fate and totally makes you say to yourself - well what if I didn't make the last green light, what if I spent 2 more minutes at work - would have missed her.
I'm sorry I'm babbling - but I still can't even believe this.
So we just all spent the past three hours together - took a walk on the boardwalk, went out for sushi, and just spent the whole time catching up.
Just wanted to share a good think on a Monday
