Where can I go to buy nice furniture at an affordable price?
furniture such as couches, kitchen table.
Do you know of any places in Nassau?

I got my dining room from Levitz and I always get compliments on it. The best part is that we took out the no interest credit card for it --- so we don't have to pay a dime until 2007.
They have some nice couches there at reasonable prices.

We got our couches and tables at Raymour and Flannigan and then got a great dinette at a dinnette store on Old Coutry Road across from the Source

We also just purchased some furniture from Levitz. They have no interest till 2009 right now going on.

We just went to Casa Bella on Fulton Street and got a bedroom set and sectional with sofa bed, with set up and delivery to port jefferson station, for a little under 4k and interest free for a year.

We got some nice pieces at Pier 1, and I have also found that Ikea's stuff, when it's not that particleboard stuff, can be nice. DH and I got a tv stand and two bookshelves from there, they are solid wood and look like something from Pottery Barn. But they were much less expensive.

There is a small family owned store in New Hyde Park called Life Style Home Furnishings. It's right next to the mansion McDonalds on Jericho Tpke. They dont have a whole lot in their store, but you can order sofas, tables, etc through catalouges. DH and I ordered a table for our hallway from there and were happy w/ price and quality.
Their pricing for sofa sets was also much less than the larger furniture stores.
