xpost - Second baby shower ( aka Sprinkle) is it tacky?
I have a friend who I would like to throw a second baby shower for.
Her first "shower" for her first baby was before she was married and it was a last second thrown together thing in her moms house. Since it was last second and in her moms small house it wasn't many people - a few friends and her side of the family and no one from DH's side except his mom and sisters.
So for her DH's side of the family who never knew about the shower it will be a first. For her side it will be her second.
she was really upset that a big deal wasn't made over the first baby ... her mom wound up throwing together a last minute shower when she finally got a clue.. it was less then a week before her due date... no invitations just calling everyone up, I don't even think there was a cake.
She goes above and beyond for everyone else always doing thoughtful things, buying great gifts for everyone else, thowing everyone else's showers... she just really deserves this!
I was just worried what everyone else would have to say... I know when your PG thats the last thing you need.. stress b/c people are talking bad about you
Do you think this is tacky? I just really wanted to help give my friend the shower she deserved.

How old is her first child???? For me, as long as there is 2-3 years at least between them, I am okay with second showers.

I would go for it, especially given the situation. If nothing else, her DH deserves for her to have one.

I just wasn't sure since it is their second child and they technically had a first "shower" even though it was horrible.

then it's definitely okay!!! even if she had a big shower the first time around, lots of safety stuff can change in 4 years!!

Definitely do it---- I did it for my best friend for her second (her 1st was the same--thrown together) and it was everything she wanted!

I feel if there is a 2-3 yr. gap, no problemo. By then things are destroyed and you need new, or they are totally updated.
