He is BY FAR a LOT better than me, but I'm pretty decent. We have bowled in a league year-round for about 3 years now. It's something we both really enjoy and take seriously.

Re: I saw this listing on Craigslist...

FYI - when I used to bowl seriously I did. Different bowling balls for different lane conditions.

Re: I saw this listing on Craigslist...

It has to do with the oil on the lanes. Some are drier than others. Also, you need different balls for different hooks.

My DH is was a bowler...hence my crazy knowledge!Chat Icon

Really?? I assumed they were all alike. So it's similar to golf, which way the the blades of glass are leaning towards, etc.

No wonder I'm horrible at it.

Re: I saw this listing on Craigslist...

Ohhhh, good. I thought I was just terrible at bowling.

At least now I can chalk it up to poor lane conditions!!!
Do you think DH would buy it???

And there are different materials the balls are made from which can help according to the lane conditions. And everyone thought you just heave it down the lane! Chat Icon

Re: I saw this listing on Craigslist...

I used to work in a bowling center, you would see some of the better bowlers come in with a four ball bag and carrying the over the shoulder bag with another 1 or 2.

Re: I saw this listing on Craigslist...

I'm on a women's league, and while we're not that competitive, the men's league is too much!!!! Chat Icon I've seen men pull two of those wheely things!!! I think some use one ball for the first throw, and a different one for the spare. They're also drilled differently, depending if you want the ball to curve or not.
