LIRR Service Weather Advisory:
Current Service Status:
The LIRR is currently operating on or close to schedule systemwide.
Port Washington Branch service has been restored as of 2:19pm. The Port Washington Branch service was suspended earlier due to weather related problems.
The LIRR anticipates to operate a normal evening rush hour, however buses will replace train service between Ronkonkoma and Greenport, in both directions, until further notice.
Due to the severity of this weekend's blizzard, LIRR customers should allow for extra travel time. We appreciate our customers' understanding as we continue to fight the effects of yesterday's blizzard.

DH & I used to live tin PW, before we moved to Monroe. DH would take that train line to work. I am glad he does not have to take that train anymore!  's to anyone who has to take the LIRR today.

It took me four hours to get here. I can't imagine I'm getting home in an hour and a half.

Ya know.....this is NY ...when will the LIRR figure out what they need to do for a snowstorm? Especially when they are warned DAYS in advance??

Last night at the concert, John Hiatt said "They keep calling this the Blizzard of '06. When I was a kid, they just called it winter."
