anyone work past 38 weeks?
I want to stop working at 38 weeks -but what will I do with myself?? I keep thinking it might as well be at work making money - at the same time, when I am at work - I wish I were in bed!!

Re: anyone work past 38 weeks?
I am due the same day as you and my company maternity policy starts at 38 weeks. It did not matter though, because I was out at 36 weeks. I have a physical job and it was becoming unbareable in the heat with a sizeable commute.
I was scared the first few days because I thought I would be so bored and isolated. As it turns out through, it was a great decision. There is so much I had to do in terms of clearing my own head, fixing up the room, installing the car seat with local police, etc... I read a lot now, get my nails done, relax with friends by the pool- other mothers, teachers, etc... My husband keeps reminding me that these are the final days of me time and it is no sin to relax for the last few weeks- as it will be another 18 years before I am able to do so fully!!!

Re: anyone work past 38 weeks?
I worked through my 39th week. I had planned to rest that last week before my due date, but I went into labor the very next day after my last day of work!
I ended up being thankful that I had all of my weeks of disability after I gave birth as opposed to before.
