Blanket or stuffed animal in crib?
At what age is it OK to let them sleep with either a security blanket or stuffed animal? Any recommendations of what are good to sleep with?

At about 9-10 months old, Michael went to sleep with his "blankie" and Elmo. At 14 months, he has a little Elmo and a little bear in his crib, along with his blanket.

Re: Blanket or stuffed animal in crib?
I didn't start until this month (10) with a stuffed animal at nap time. I won't do blankets for a while -- my daughter rolls too much.

Re: Blanket or stuffed animal in crib?
i put a lamaze toy in her crib that she plays with when she wakes up. I have also been told that a small cotton blanket is ok for them to have - as long as they are able to pick it up (so they can move it) - if it's 100% cotton it is breathable.

Re: Blanket or stuffed animal in crib?
My daughter is almost 2 and I still don't give her a blanket when she goes to sleep. Her pediatrician told me not to. I am going to ask again at her nest visit which is in a month. She moves around a lot in her sleep so I am afraid to give her a blanket. She does have a favorite stuffed animal that she sleeps with. She's had him for at least 6 months.

Connor sleeps with his woobie (bear head with blankie attached) and a blanket everynight. He has since birth.

Re: Blanket or stuffed animal in crib?
Gosh, Andrew's crib is like a playpen sometimes, he's got so much in it, and has for awhile, maybe since he was 8-10 months old.
I've always given him a blanket, and now he goes to sleep and knows how to cover himself
He also has a stuffed Elmo and Cookie Monster, plus his puppy. I also let him read a book at naptime, so that stays in his crib too. Its great because when he wakes up, he is usually content in his crib playing until I am ready to get him out.
