If a friend at work...
sends around an e-mail asking for donations for a walkathon fundraiser benefitting some private inner-city Jersey school her boyfriend teaches at, what is appropriate to give? I really like this girl so I want to help out, but I'm not sure what an appropriate amount is? I'd rather not give more than 20 bucks, but is that being cheap?

I thought about that but I'm wondering if that's putting her in a weird position and I'm figuring she'll just say, "whatever you can give is fine."

I would just do $20 if you want to at all. I'm not in the habit of giving money to benefit a private school.

I'm currently doing this for a walk tomorrow and I would just give what you can.
Frankly, I don't care how much anyone gives as long as they give..
I have some who did not at all..that's ok too-no pressure..
