I never meant to hurt anyone (Repost FHF)

I would like to explain my actions a few nights ago. I received an email from a friend, who is pro-choice, that thought I could use some inspiration. She had miscarried twice and is now 16 weeks pregnant with her third. She sent me the story I posted. She said that it made her think that, although we have our own intentions, sometimes things happen that are out of our control. But things would eventually work out. She hoped it would inspire me, and others we knew that were TTC.

So I thought I was posting something that could be inspirational. The reason I posted the subject about 'ruffling feathers' is because I figured some people who were pro-choice wouldn't like the story. But there have been many posts that I didn't necessarily agree with and I just didn't respond to.

When I logged back in hours later I was surprised to see I had so many FMs and responses. I have never seen so much hatred. I was called every name in the book, including f***ing c***. I was astounded.

My responses back were inappropriate. But when you're being attacked, wouldn't you fight back? I am sorry to cause so much controversy. I didn't mean to upset people.

I too am TTC, and the story came from another woman who has had a hard time TTC. I thought it was nice to share. It was not intended to push my religious beliefs. I came to these boards in hopes of finding people that were dealing with the same issues I was. I was new here and did not know that posting stories was not a good idea on TTC.

I'm sorry that you experienced so much animosity towards you. I didn't read your original post, but I got the gist of it. All I can say is that you have to be careful what you post on the internet. It's hard to get someones intentions through text, and not through the tone of their voice. I've learned my lesson from this as well. I hope it doesn't deter you from posting on here and getting the support you need from other women while TTC. Best of luck to you!

Wow, I'm out of the loop and missed it entirely but all I can say is, forget about it. It's over and done with. People make mistakes and say and do things they regret sometimes - we've all been there. You did the right thing and said you were sorry - and explained yourself. That should be enough. So don't worry

Posting what you did on the TTC board was not a good choice...BUT, that doesnt give others the right to send you FM"s calling you what they did! There are all kinds on these boards and whoever called you the c-word is just one of the NASTY ones!

I agree, and I cant believe that women in here would ever use the "C word....I HATE that word.

Don't worry about it. Like it was said before, all is said and done! You know that you didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings, but unfortunately, tone does not transfer through the internet. I'm sorry people were so mean. Maybe their gut reaction to reading your message was the same as your reaction to the FM's. Just try and look at it that way. Emotions run really high when you're TTC. I think we all know that, even if we aren't faced with obstacles while trying to do so. Try not to be stuck on it, and try to move on.
