What's a good carpet Cleaner?
that's affordable but good.
I guess a carpet cleaner but that also picks the dog hair.

my MIL has the Fantom, and its Awesome.
but if you need to get stains out, you would probably need a steam cleaner (though, i think they make combination vaccuums like that now, but i dont know anythng about them)

What do you mean stains? Do you want a vaccum or a carpet steamer?
We're really happy with the Hoover Windtunnel Bagles self propelled. It's HEAVY but it's slef propelled, it works great and has a HEPA filter.
As for carpet cleaners, we have the bissel steamer, I'm also happy with it and you can buy different forumals for it, for stains, for pet odors, for allergy relief, etc.

They really can't do both.
You need to thoroughly vacuum any room first then steam clean it. As far as I know there is no machine out there that does both. Being that my Dad has a very hairy Golden Retriever... we've looked.

Yeah i kind of feel like even if a machine does both, how can it do both well?

I use Capture Carpet cleaner. You can get it at home depot. It's really good on light colored rugs.
As far as vacuum, we are just about to look for one too.
