BUILDING COLLAPSE /TORNADO-like conditions in WESTCHESTER
CBS just announced this - somehwere in Hawthorne. Apparently people are trapped and they will have more as when they get more info.

WEATHER: Tornado damage closes the Saw Mill River Parkway

FROM STAFF REPORTS
(Original publication: July 12, 2006)
The Saw Mill Parkway has been closed by Westchester county police.
A tornado that touched down in Mount Pleasant felled a number of trees onto the parkway right at police headquarters.
It's closed northbound at Eastview and southbound at 9A.
Traffic is being diverted behind the headquarters, said Lt. Michael Palumbo.

Yikes- we are a little north of Somers, in Brewster, and I heard an awful lot of sirens not too long ago (it's very quiet up here). But the sun is starting to come out. I was very relieved that my DH made it home- he just got in.
