I just posted the same thing this morning! I have no idea what to do. She got better during the rest of the day - but she occasionally keeps going back over there.

Re: Pets and real trees

I dont know about dogs because I have a cat, the only thing that works on her is water... whenever she gets close to the tree I spray her with water, she is still curious but doesnt spend that much time around the tree anymore...

Re: Pets and real trees

It may not be ideal but my brother put up a gate around the tree so the dog wouldn't get to it.

I was thinking of the gate but the tree is so big that Id have to get like one of thouse round gate things Chat Icon And we were trying to gate him in the kitchen and he just either A) jumps over the gate or B) or climbs through the banister.

Re: Pets and real trees

I suggested this on the other tree post, but you may want to try "Tattle Tale" . Put it by the tree and it will make a loud noise if your puppy (or anyone else, unfortunately), gets too close. It works for my BIL who uses it to keep his dog off the couch. Good luck!

Re: Pets and real trees

I sprayed bitter apple on all the bottom branches that Misty kept biting off. She seems to have left it alone after that.
P.S. It didn't hurt the tree either.

Re: Pets and real trees

out kitty does the same thing...he hates the vacuum so ever time he went near it we put the vacuum on - and he runs away from it. Now we have the vacuum guarding the tree...and it actually works!!Chat Icon

Re: Pets and real trees

I'm doing the water gun thing with my puppy...when I get his attention, I tell him no, and that seems to be keeping him at bay.
