Getting rid of Nextel this month...
I need to choose a service...
Which is better Cingular or Verizon?
My dh claims that his cousin, who works for Verizon, can get us a "deal" but who knows....I kinda like the rollover minutes with cingular...

I have cingular- and all though service wise- I havent had a problem-
We are always "going over our minutes"
we had nextel before- the same amount of minutes.. and we never had this problem... the bill is never right, and I dont like their customer service at all...
So I voted for verizon!

I voted for Verizon. I had Cingular and hated it. My calls were always dropped and the always messed up my bills. I caught the charging me for free nights and weekends. I won't use them again!

i hated veriozin because they would be charging us calling our own number ummm ok how is it i am getting charged an extra 50 a month for calling my own number, and no it was not voice mail. cingular never have a problem with it, bill is always good. and with all my friends having it i was able to lower my min and not have to worry , i never go over my min and the roller was great to have when i went through 5000 min(reg and rollover ) when i went through the stuff with keith

I've had every service known to man...Verizon is the best for my location (NYC)....It depends on where you live and which carriers tower is closest.

We went from Nextel to Verizon and we love verizon. I have been in several places where people don't have service and I always do when I check my phone in those same places with them.

my DH just went from Nextel to Verizon last month & he is so happy! I have had Verizon since I was 16 & never a problem! I love their service! When we went on our HM, all the Verizon customer's had service in St. Maarten, St. Thomas & Puerto Rico! I have been in the mountains & rarely hit a dead cell!!!

My DH had cingular before he switched to sprint and it was terrible! I would go with verizon.

I used to have Nextel and I hated it!
I have been with Verizon for years now and I never have had a problem with them-the service is the best!

I have verizon and have for years. Aside from problems with my phones, the service has always been great. I pay about $100/month for two phones and we share I'd say 1500 minutes, never go over, and have free text/picture messages.

Me too.. I just signed up with Verizon yesterday.. I HATE Nextel..... my contract is not even up yet, but I'm soo disgusted with them, I don't even care about the charge.. Hopefully my husband will take over my account though until my contract is up, if not then hey.. I just can't take it no more...

It depends where it will be used the most. I had better reception/service with Verizon in Manhattan but DH (who uses the phone a million times more then me) gets beter service from Cingular on the South Shore.

I hated Cingular. Our contract finally expired in June and we switched to Verizon. No problems so far.
