Fever After Immunizations?
Hey Ladies- Alex had her first shots yesterday . Today she is very sleepy, snuggly, and just plain icky feeling. I took her temp & it was 99.8* Just gave her some baby Tylenol. I'm assuming this is normal, but just wanted some opinions? TIA.

Totally normal... Alex slept an inordinate amount after her shots and was more cranky than usual (if that's possible! )

Re: Fever After Immunizations?
its very very normal. your pediatrician should have told you your lil one may feel like that and get a slight fever. tylenol will solve the problem.

Yep, that all sounds normal. Also, I could be mistaken, but if that's a rectal temp, I don't even think it's considered a fever.

Yeah, he recommended the Tylenol but didn't mention a fever. I just thought it might be for some achiness from the shots & other possible side effects. Thanks ladies.

Re: Fever After Immunizations?
I usually give Talia tylenol 1/2 an hour before she gets the shots - it helps prevent a temp.

Re: Fever After Immunizations?
normal, 100.4 is considered a fever, even 100 is not considered a fever, each person's baseline temp is different, some are higher than other's at certain times of the day.
