Homeowners acn someone help me
There are 2 trees in front of my house on the sidewalk.....the root is growing and ripping up the sidewalk.....who do I call for this and am I responsible to pay for this???
I know I should have posted this on the HOME board but there is more traffic here

Usually the municipality where you live is responsible for the trees, but in most areas, the homeowner is responsible for the sidewalk in front of your house (there are exceptions to this...)
Call your Town or village highway department and ask them about it.

It depends on who owns the trees. I know, the trees in front of my house are owned by the Town and I can't even TRIM them! I'm not sure about the sidewalk but that may be the municipality's responsiblity too - especially if they put it down.

ok so I just called and I am responsible to pay for the sidewalk....thats DUMB!!!!!

I know it sux but if i were you I would fix it ASAP because if someone gets hurt from it they can sue you.
