Had my 37 week appointment and feeling upset...
So all has been ok aside from contractions and cramping at 35 weeks...i go today and the babies heartrate is slightly low (about 128?) when typicall he is around 155.
I told the doctor how i was surprised how low the babies heartrate got last week when i was monitored in labor & delivery...meaning it would be 160 and then drop to around 55-65 during a contraction. He seemed puzzled and was like "are you sure it was that low?" (keep in mind a diff doctor saw me in the hospital and sent me home..).
Long story short...i am told today that i should be having a stress test to monitor how the baby is doing during contractions and they will get me in today. I get a call now saying to go TOMORROW at 10:30am.
If you were me, wouldn't you be upset that there was a slight concern for low heartate and then they don't fit you in on the same day? I don't know what to do..i called my doc and left a message to call me back.
Also...i test positive for Group B Strep. great. I know its common, but just another problem you know? And the pregnancy had been pretty ok so far... :( Sorry for the long post and letting me vent. Just concerned/upset right now...

I would upset, too. Maybe try calling the doctor/nurse and asking them if you should come in earlier.

Good luck and keep a positive outlook. Remember, millions of Moms (and their doctors) have probably gone through this same thing and turned out okay.

IMO - if u r really not happy with waiting until tomorrow then call them back and tell them that. ask them if u really can not go in today.

If you are that concerned call the doctor and ask to have one today.
Bring a pillow and bottled water with you when you go. Honestly, everything could be fine and you just needed some water. Lack of water can make the baby's heartrate go down. Lay on your left side also..that can also help.

Sorry that this is happening to you!
Fow what it is worth - don't sweat the Group B Strep thing. It is a bacterium that is part of the normal flora of the vagina, but not all women have it all of the time. It is a "transient colonizer" - that is why they test is close to delivery time.
Because they know you are positive, they will give you some antibiotics during delivery, no big deal. So, your sweet baby will be protected and fine. Way better than if they didn't know!!!!!!
