stupid bedding question??

Ok so my dh FINALLY put the crib togther and i am going to wash everything and put the sheets on tomorrow. Can you show me how the dust ruffle is suppose to look and also
(really stupid part here) how do i put it on. it goes on the matress and hangs down? I know im sorry i feel like an idiot asking these questions. TIA

This is a pic of my bedding. The dust ruffle should go under the mattress and hang down. Hope this helps!

I put the dust ruffle under the mattress and on top of the metal spring thing in the crib.

Lemme see if I have pics but I've never been happy with how my dust ruffle laid -- mostly because it's too ruffley but they didn't sell solid colors of plain flat ones, from what I was able to find.
