Anyone have name and number of an organization they have donated a car to?

We are actually in the process of getting ready to donate one of our cars and I came across the American Diabetes Association. Actually, my dad donated a car down south a while ago and went through ADA so I did some research and they still do. The even take cars that don't run (as in our case) and will tow it away. Just be aware that the laws changed in Jan 2005 so that you can not write off the car's blue book value anymore. The charity will send you a receipt when they sell the car (most sell them for parts to a scrapyard) and you can only deduct what the charity got for the car. I'm not sure how it works when you donate a car that the charity actually uses. Their development department should be able to answer that for you.

I have a friend that donated a car to North Shore Animal League in late 2004.

I donated mine , found a number in the back of the Yankee Trader.

i donated my old car i use to have to the blind i forgot the number but it was proberly the school what is good is that when you do you taxes the following year you get maoney back on it!
