Using a play yard as a bassinet?
Does anyone plan on using your play yard as a bassinet for the baby when he'she sleeps in your room as a newborn? I'm considering it and I would use the top part of the play yard, which is made for the baby to sleep in. Just looking for other opinions.

I registered for a pack n' play, the one with the bassinet included. That's what I planned on using in our room for those first few weeks.

Re: Using a play yard as a bassinet?
we are using the Pack N Play bassinet in the living room if I'm in the kitchen so I don't have to go all the way upstairs (we have a split level). We have a regular bassinett in our room.

We are using the pack n play as the downstairs bassinet, in our bedroom we plan on using a cosleeper or the regular bassinet.

I plan on using our pack and play as a bassinet, I don't want a bassinet.

We used the pack n' play for that for the second month. The first month he slept in his bouncer on the coffee table!
We did get one that had a full size bassinet which was GREAT because our son was born really big to begin with. You can also use it longer if you have to.
