We closed today!!
Yay, we are officially homeowners!! 
Well, actually, we only own 20% of it, the bank owns the rest of it 
I am so glad it's over! The sellers weren't there because the wife just had a baby last night but the seller's broker was. Their broker gave us a set of tupperware which I think she said was from her. I thought that was really nice. I have never heard of that before.
We don't get the keys until Monday. I can't wait to get in there and paint!!

Thanks! You know what, I never took any pictures. I have to remember to bring my camera when I go next week so I can take pics. I have this one from MLSLI which is not a great picture. The house is in pretty good condition but we want to do some cosmetic things to it.......once we save some money  Image Attachment(s):

Why didn't you get the keys right away? I thought the house was yours as soon as the closing takes place? Is this an agreement you had before hand or is this the norm? We are hoping to start moving our stuff in the weekend after we close!

It was in our contract that they have 3 days after closing to vacate the premesis. I'll be honest, I don't know if we were compensated for these three days or not. My head is still spinning from all the information and numbers!

You should be compensated for three days of mortgage interest and property taxes. If you look over your paperwork close enough... you should see it.
Congrats! I actually closed today myself... so we are a closing date twin.
