Meeting the pediatrition before baby is born
Did everyone meet the pediatrition before DC was born?
I have a recommendation from two people for the same pedi. Do you think it is important that I meet with her before DS is born? I just don't see myself having the time to do that in the next few weeks
Edited for spelling and clarification

Re: Meeting the pediatrition before baby is born
I think you should go in and meet the ped to make sure they share the same views as you. Sometimes they have instructions for you before you deliver (like to refuse the Hep B vaccine - i think that's the one)
I met my ped first and he was my sister's ped first. even though he moved his original practice - she was still going there - so I gave it a shot and happy I did.

Re: Meeting the pediatrition before baby is born
I would make it a point to go into the practice and get a feel for them. Pass the tx rooms make sure they are clean and the office has a well room and a sick room. Vaccination scheduling was a big one for me and it was important that my ped's be on the same page. It was nice meeting them( 2 women) and then having one of them come in to see me(in the hospital) after I had the baby and reviewed the babies stats with me. Since I already met her and chatted with her we both felt very comfortable discussing my DD. I was very happy I made the decision to meet them ahead of time........

I did and I am so happy I did. I met with the head doctor and he discussed everything with us. Important things such as breastfeeding, practice management, hours and availability for emergencies, vaccinations and my choices (such as refusing the Hep C vac in hospital in lieu of having a 5 for 1 shot). He also gave us a list of the things that we should have in the house for when the baby arrives like glycine supp and tylenol.
