E-party gift
Believe it or not, I have never been to an engagement party. Very weird. What's a typical gift? I can give $ right? It's a good friend of mine that I grew up with.

I got mostly money for mine, because I wasn't registered yet (we had the party just a few months after getting engaged).
You can check to see if she is registered and get something from there!

for mine, we received mostly $, but we weren't registered, yet.
For DH's cousin, we mistakenly thought that they weren't having a bridal shower (because the e-party was a long time after they got engaged, but only 3 months before their wedding) so I got about $100 worth of gifts off their registry.

we also give money or a gift card... maybe someplace like bed bath and beyond, those are always useful!

You can go to Tiffany and get some beautiful champagne toasting flutes for a reasonable price. Money always works as well or a gift certificate.
ETA: Found the link. 2 flutes for $70.
