BF moms - how many BMs a day?

When your child was a week old, if you breastfed, how many bowel movements did he/she have a day?

The day I brought Emily home she had 5. Now she's only having one or two. I asked the doctor today since she had her new baby visit and she said that's normal, especially since she's eating mostly breast milk, because it is so digestable and there is little waste. I thought breast fed babies had more BMs. Is she having enough?

I got a chart to come home with me...at the end of the first week it says:

6-8 wet diapers a day
4-12 Bm diapers a day

and at least 8-12 feedings..

Now @ 2 weeks old (tomorrow already )

We have at LEAST 6-8 a day of each.. (there not always "big"..and he does get 2 supplements of formula a day..so I dont know..

If your Dr. isnt worried then I would say its fine...

Katherine only has one a day, sometimes every other day. She seems fine and I read that this is normal.
