another question regarding 5 month old

I read in a an article I can start giving her a sippy cup .. is this true and what do i give her to drink???
Also now that she has had all her cereal am I able to give her fruits etc??

DS is 6 months. I dont know about the sippy cups because is not ready for them yet. But as far as fruits go, DS has been getting them and veggies for a while now. I am going to start him on Stage 2's this week actually.

Sara has been getting fruits and veggies for a while now. I am not starting the sippy cup until she is about 8 months.

We tried the sippy cup at around 6 months with water and a little bit of juice in it but she ddn't know what to do with it. We offered it to her once i na while and would hold it for her but it wasn't until recently that she "got it." She is almost 10 months now.

You can start showing her the sippy cup. I know that for awhile other than throwing it my daughter didn't know what to make of it. I would take it away for a couple of days and then try again. Eventually she got the hang of it, with Mommy having to play dodgeball.

thanks ladies.. I know there is one that has a nipple like top, just a matter of finding it..
and fruits and veggies we will start soon too.. woohoo..
did you guys just decide it was time on your own or you asked around??

I believe the one with the closest to a nipple top is the Nuby. They sell it all over, target, CVS, BRU, etc.

We tried it and she didn't like that one. She has the hardest time getting stuff out of it.

My suggestion would be to try a few types of sippies and see what she likes best. For us she has most sucess with the disposable take n toss ones. She can actually get something out of them!
