Something weird I noticed about my neighbors
there is a young couple with a small child (2 yrs old if I had to guess) who live across from me, they moved in about 1 yr ago. they have 1 car, a Mercedes. now that I am home, I noticed that the dad goes to work 3-4x a week and takes the car, while they're home.
wouldn't it make more sense to buy 2 less expensive cars and not leave the mom home alone with a child and no car? 
I just thought that was strange. or maybe I have too much time on my hands

but maybe they moved from the city and only had one car?
who knows
id certainly want my freedom to drive where i want if dh wasnt home and i was, but to each their own
maybe she drives him to the train and drives back home?

I was thinking the same thing..that she doesn't drive.
My mom's next door neighbor never got her license. She stays at home with the kids and her husband takes their only car to work.
Thankfully for her, there are plenty of relatives close by in case of an emergency.

this is JMO, but I would buy a used reliable car for her incase of an emergency. I never see anyone else go there (like family). I think they are Russian, based on the sound of their accent.

a woman at my old job shared a land rover with her husband
personally I would rather have 2 cars- over 1 nice one
or even 1 nice one and 1 cheaper one
but maybe this woman doesn't drive

You are assuming that because they have the Mercedes they can't afford another car when really who knows their reasons for having one car...and who cares?
