Sort of Spin off- Water drinkers

ok- I was very dehydrated for a long time

and I started drinking 8 plus glasses of water a day

now I find I don't need as much to be perfectly hydrated ( ie- clear pee- TMI sorry)

does anyone else find this?

I still drink alot of water- but not as much as I was

I heard not too long ago that you don't actually have to drink 8 glasses a day, thats a myth.

Re: Sort of Spin off- Water drinkers

I've increased my water intake (still can't get to 8 glasses a day), but i've noticed a difference.

And I'm more awake at work when I drink more. I get tired and sluggish when I don't drink a lot of water.

I used to drink more water than I do now. I was a crazy water drinker, like 15 glasses a day, now I drink about 10-12. I think it is b/c my desk is sooooo far from the bathroom and I have to find some one to cover my bosses phones if I step away

Its not a myth, but it is also not precise. They say 8 b/c it is a good average for every one. It depends on your body. There is a formula, I think, if i remember right it is:

your weight X .67 / 8 = the number of glasses of water you need a day

But that figure includes the water you get from food, so it is not an exact science

Re: Sort of Spin off- Water drinkers

I think recently they said juice and other drinks count - when in the past they said just water

it's confusing- but the more water you drink- the less you retain- b/c your body knows more is coming

Is THAT why we lose weight when we drink more water? We lose water weight, which I knew. But I couldn't figure out how drinking more water makes you lose water weight.

I know that sounds dumb, but I never really looked at it that way before.

also b/c your body functions better when it is hydrated so your metabolism is faster, plus it keeps you feeling more full

I think I've guzzled 1/2 a gallon of water just from reading this post! That's def. a positive side-effect from LIF!

At WW they say that decaffinated drinks count towards your water...ie: caffiene free diet coke.
