When do you start looking for a pediatrican?
I'm just about to start my 7th month - is it too early? Everyone keeps asking me who I'm going to use...I have a few recommendations but I haven't talked to any of them yet.
Also, what's the process? I go ask them each some questions and then call them and tell them I want to use them? Just seems so awkward to me.

I interviewed three pediatricians when I was 8 months, all in the same day. I know it seems overwhelming, but just take a day and bang it out. I know I felt great when I did it all in one day like it was another BIG decision off of my list.

since i am delivering at Beth Israel- I need to have a pediatrician that has priviledges there- there is a suite of pediatricians in the ambulatory center that my OB pracitices out of.
so I'm going over there next week after my check up to talk to the pediatricians....
then I have to switch after she is born to one near me in NJ- my cousin is an OB nurse at St. Barnabas- so I have some suggestions from her that I will call.
anyone have questions we are supposed to ask?

I did the same thing...picked three and visited them all in one day and made my decision. I went in my 8th month.

Call and tell them that you are expecting and that you are looking for a pediatrician.

Charly- are you considering any peds who are part of MKMG? I know I have time but I have been thinking about this a lot already, mainly because of the logistal issues (mainly, do I want someone at the Carmel office or the Mount Kisco office).

I started the process at 6 months and interviewed and decided on a pediatrician at 7.5 months.

Did anyone get recommendations from their OB?
I find that doctors usually refer other doctors that have the same work ethics like them and are as professionals....I'm thinking of asking my OB for suggestions....and to answer the question, I have to start doing this as well.....

I just started the process and started making appointments, although I am pretty sure I know the practice I want to go with, just need to pick which doctor.
