When you stop feeding puppy food?
LAYLA will be 1 year next month? my little girl!!
when should you I stop feeding her puppy chow? the little comes next month? i was hoping to feed them both hte same food, but then someone said that i should stop feeding her puppy food, she is a chunky lately~~~ ya know.....that pug belly!!!!

you should take her off about now. or at least start mixing her adult food in with her puppy food gradually now.
dogs should be eating sdult dog food at 1 year old, so now is a good time to start mixing it.
for one week do 3 parts puppy food, 1 part adult
the next week do 2 parts puppy food, 2 parts adult
week later, 3 parts adult food, 1 part puppy
then by her 1st birthday she should be all on adult food!

wehn Tiger was 1 I weaned him off of it and gave him adult food.

after Otis got neutered and started to stop feeding him puppy food he was eating adult fully by 7-8 months

Casey is just finishing up a bag of Puppy food...when we buy her next bag, it will be Adult. She's 11 months.

Casey is just finishing up a bag of Puppy food...when we buy her next bag, it will be Adult. She's 11 months.
just so you know it may be a good idea to get her the Adult food bag now and mix it with her Puppy food otherwise she might get diarreah.
that happened to me once when i switched cold turkey. good luck!

wow - I'm really shocked to hear all this! I guess bc we have a large breed dog it must be different, bc our vet and breeder both recommended to keep Golem on his puppy food until 24 months, so he doesn't get big boy food until next year!

well i can understand that. Large breeds are considered "puppies" til 2 years old, while toy breeds are considred "adult" at 1 yr

true - I forgot that when my guy is still a puppy, other breeds are considered adults already
