soon, any advice for me? She'll be three months. what to pack, what to do, etc. We're going to FL for a couple of weeks to see the Grandparents. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

What things could you not live w/o? What did you bring that you really didn't need, etc. TIA!

Re: Flying with baby

We just came back from Florida on Saturday. I packed enough stuff with me to get me there and then i bought food, diapers, wipes down there.
I had brought a ton of toys and snacks with me, but she ended up sleeping the entire time on the plane.

Have a bottle ready for take off and landing. I also gave my daughter a half a dose of tylenol to help with her ears. She didnt cry or make a sound during landing.

What worked for us is giving her a bottle while the plane is taking off and then gave her the pacifier for the way down. I also requested the first row of seats and that made it easier for diaper changes. The bathroom has a changing table but it is so tiny I didnt want to even try.
Have a good trip.

I took Noah to NY when he was 4 months old. I just took around 4 bottles and just some simple toys, he wasn't much interested in the toys, he enjoyed watching the air hostesses walk past and smiling coyly at them. He slept for a good chunk of the 7 hour flight and it was pretty easy. I am taking him back to the states next month

I flew with Jake when he was already a year old and the thing that saved us was the PSP so he could watch his Lots to Learn video. Without that, I think people would have opened the emergency exit and jumped.

I also agree - bottle on the way up and down. Buy everything else (food, diapers, wipes) when you get there.

Bring your stroller, you check it at the gate right before you board and they have it ready and waiting for you when you come out.

A tip I got from one of the ladies on here: don't preboard especially if you have an older baby. They will just get restless there waiting for everyone else to board the plane.

Another tip - don't even try and get the emergency exit row. We made that mistake (and waited till the last minute to board!) and it caused a huge mess. Infants aren't allowed in the Exit row.
