Window treatment question
Do you have shades/blinds on all your windows? I'm planning to put sheer curtains and a 2nd layer with heavier drapes in my living room and dining room, do I need to put shades or blinds on the inside of the windows as well?

Re: Window treatment question
Our house came with blinds in every room- those WIDE classroom style ones.
In our study, which has a big window, we took them down and put up a double rod- one with sheers and one with cordaroy panels. I love how it looks, it's much softer.
I did leave the blinds in the bedroom, and hung curtains over them. I want to be able to block the sun in that room. I am going to take the blinds down in the living room and do sheers and panels.
I don't think you necessarily need shades/blinds unless you want the room darkened, like a bedroom.
ETA- This post has pics of that room with the blinds and later with only curtains, if you'd like to see a pic.

Re: Window treatment question
The only rooms that have shades in our house are the bedrooms...I bought roman shades for them... The front of the house has all curtains except the living room, which just has a scarf so the bay window is open.

Re: Window treatment question
That's going to save us a lot of $$ if we don't have to add shades everywhere. I guess I was worried that you could see in and I didn't want it to look odd if the windows didn't look uniform from the outside.
