Spin-off to 80's Heart-throb - did you ever write a fan letter?

I did!!! I was probably in about 3rd grade and I sent a fan/love letter to Scott Baio - or it could have been Ricky Shroeder - lol!!

I remember that I used my favorite Garfield stationary and didn't even get a picture back!!

Anyone else?

yep i wrote to John stamos and Ricky schroder. i know i got two autographs in black and white i dont know where the hell they are!!

My brother was a huge Larry Bird fan so I wrote him a letter and got back an autographed picture which my mom had framed for me and I gave it to him for christmas one year. He loved it, and it was about all I could afford back then.

This wasn't in the 80's, but DH is a huge Coach K/Duke basketball fan, so I sent our wedding invite and our daughter's birth announcement, both of which he autographed and we have hanging prominantly in our den.

My friend wrote a fan letter to the Full House cast and received back an autographed photo.. I was soooooo jealous!

I wrote letters to Michael Damian (Danny from Young and the Restless), Rider Strong (Boy Meets World), and Billy Joel. and got autographed pics from all.

No but I entered a contest to win a date with John Travolta aka Vinnie Barbarino. Can you imagine him showing up to date a 7 year old?

I think I wrote a letter to Joey MacIntyre.

I did write letters to every baseball team though... and got back a bunch of bumper stickers and stuff.

I guess that Yankees and the Rockies are heart-throbs though

I didn't but my Mom did for me. When I was about 4 I loved Mason Reese. Don't ask me why, can't explain it. Well she wrote telling him I was a huge fan and all and I got back a ton of stuff from him. Probably because I was the only person who liked him or knew who he was

I never wrote a letter but I had the biggest crush on Michael Schoeffling (Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles)

I used to write letters all the time to Daryl Hall..

In 6th grade, we were having an auction to raise money so we all wrote to celebrities and recieved back so many pictures or items. I wrote to Bette Midler and got for the auction her newest CD which she autographed. I bid on the cast photo of Life Goes On and gave it to my mom! Other than that, no.
