Heart-warming story about a reconnection with an old friend...
I know there have been a couple of threads within the last couple of months about re-connectiing with old friends so I just had to share a very positive story.
As a child Susan and I were very dear friends, practically like sisters. In college we had a falling out and didn't speak for approx 10 years.
Well, DH knowing how much she had meant to me and hearing all the many stories I had shared with him about our childhood, went and secretly sent her a Save the Date to our wedding. At first, I was horrified and nervous. "Would she be angry? "Would she even care?"
Well, lo and behold, she did come to my wedding and shower and we slowly built up a friendship again. Now we are stronger than ever and speak a few times a day.
Last Halloween, on a whim, I decided to invite her to a Halloween party at our friend's house. While there, she started a conversation with one of DH's oldest and best friends. The party ended with him asking for my friends number and they quickly became an item and fell in love.
Fast forward to almost a year later:
It just so happened that I went to visit my friend at her apt the other day. She said she had some good news to share. Before I had any time to react, she showed me a beautiful diamond ring on her left hand. Needless to say, I am beyond thrilled. Both my friend and DH's friend have been unlucky in love and it is soo amazing that they found each other in such a special way. This story turned out better than I ever imagined!!!  
Just had to share because you just never know how a re-connection will turn out and in this case, so many lives are the better for it!!!

What an awesome story! I have a friend I haven't spoke to in almost 5 years and it still makes me so sad  I always think about trying to contact her but I worry that it won't turn out nicely.

That gave me chills, that's such a great story! I recently had an old friend come back into my life, isn't it so great to get to know someone again that knows your whole history?
