So today while I was walking from my car to the supermarket I passed a car and
noticed that their was a little boy in the front seat maybe 3-4 years old ALONE! I can't believe that his parents left him their. I really don't know what goes through people's mind and you would think with all the horror stories you hear about children getting kidnapped that they would do this.

Was his Mom maybe returning the cart a few steps away...??
Now as I'm a Mom myself I try to give people credit and hope they aren't dumb enough to just leave their child in their car for long periods of time even though in most cases I'm probably wrong.

I'm not sure if his mom was returning the cart but I dont think she was b/c she was parked in the first spot and from her car to the curb it was about 50 feet so i would think she would run back and fourth. I just felt so bad for this little boy.

I have to ask this...did you do anything? Seriously, if he was 4 I would have most definitely called someone to this car and I wouldnt have left. I am not faulting you but I agree his mom is a piece of cr@p . I just couldnt leave the area without knowing this boy was safe.

I would have called the cops. I'm sorry but people are insane. When we were in Florida my SIL (who has 4 kids defiently has her hands full) and I came out of the store and parked next to her is a car with a little girl sitting in the back seat! It was over 90 degrees out. I honestly called the police. I was so MAD and Upset! The lady had the cajones to come out of the store and ask us "if there was a problem" I started screaming out the lady...  My SIL thought I was gonna knock her out I was like people in this world can't have kids and you just let yours sit in the hot car!

I agree, I wwoudl have called the cops in this situation and that one.

That is jut terrible! I would have waited a moment and look around for someone to return to the car and if they did not I would have called the cops or get someones attention ASAP.

OMG I can't stand stuff like that. Last time I saw that I stood next to the car until the woman came out. She left her 2 little kids (both in car seats) in the car - with it RUNNING!!

I would have given the benefit of the doubt too and at least looked around to see if anyone was watching the car like a hawk very nearby before assuming his mom was a "piece of crap". How do we know he wasn't with his Dad?
The sad part is, like Laurie said, we are probably wrong but hopefully she was just returning the cart.
