Eye color

I forgot but at what age is eye color determined? I know that an infants eye color will change but usually when is it safe to say that their eyes won't change any more?

Sophia will be 5 months old, do you think her eyes are going to remain this color?

I heard that they could change up to a year. DD is 10 1/2 months old and I think her eyes are still changing.

Miranda's eyes have significantly changed since she was 5 months old. She is soon to be brown I think. She's 10 months. I read they can change up to a year. I hoped it was a lie but it wasn't Chat Icon

DD was born with brown eyes, we figure they will stay that way since most of the family has brown eyes.

DD eyes are STILL blue with a golden ring around the pupil! She's almost 7 months!

They can change up to a year. I read that the darker they are at birth means the more pigment is in them and they are more likely to change. So I guess if they are a dark blue they are more likely to change to brown and if they are lighter blue they may stay that way or go green.

Ooh, I hope Lauren's stay blue. She's only 3 months. Daddy has blue, so we're hoping.

Jared has blue eyes. I have brown and my dh has hazel. They're staying at 13 months! I guess we can thank grandpa or great grandpa for those gorgeous eyes!

Re: Eye color

I hope this is true! DD was born with grey/blue eyes and they have lightened a bit. I have blue eyes and would love for her to stay with blue.

I asked my PED at her last appt he said kids eye color(pigment) can change til they are 8 years old!

I read most a turned by a year but can turn even after that.

My son's were very blue for a long time. My dr even said they looked like keepers at his 6 mo well care. Then they got green then hazel - closer to about 9 months or so. Now they are mostly brown with specs of green....depends what he wears they sometimes look greenish.
