I just had to share something my stepson said in the car the other night, that had me in tears!!
He was talking to DH and said dad, how come they don't have a day for stepmoms. He said, there should be a day for stepmoms, so we can take Jaime out. He then went on to ask, who can I write to to make a day for stepmoms, the president?
I thought that was so sweet, I had tears in my eyes. It really is hard at times being a stepmom. You try so hard to make sure you do everything possible to make them happy, so they enjoy coming and spending time. You don't want them running home to their mom saying she's evil. I was just so touched by what he said and DH said to me later, he really does love you alot. He is not the most sentimental kid, but when it comes to me, he said he really cares a lot about me and looks up to me!! I love that darn kid!!!
