Question about pet's behavior when both 'parent's' aren't home.

When either DH or I aren't home, Katlyn acts all aloof and tired... basically just laying around.

As soon as we're both home, though, she's jumping around and playing.

Do you think it's because she's been moved around a bit lately? Or is this a common trait among pets?

I'm getting worried about leaving her at my dad's this weekend while we're away... Chat Icon

I notice that with Molly also. If it's just DH here she will chill out. If it's just me here she's pretty much calm. The second the two of us together she is like a puppy on crack.

I'm hoping it's just the first year and she will grow out of it.

ETA - I wouldn't worry about leaving for the weekend. She will be fine!

Not when neither of us are home... But when one is home, but not the other.

Though, when we come home and she's alone... she's always just lounging on the couch... and won't eat if nobody's home.

Thanks so much!!

Gizzy sleeps allll day long when we are not home. I know because I find him passed out when I sneak in the house quierly. When one of us is home he will follow us to whatever room we are in and nap/lay around there. When we both are home, expecially when we first come in, he is very hyper.

My dogs sleep all day when we are not home, especially in this heat. Sometimes they perch in the window & look at the woods, but mostly just relax.
