Pictures of the work being done on Danielle and my house
Well we have been busy. Friday and Saturday, I mostly weeded out the front of the house, after my father in law trimmed all the hedges. Then I picked up some cedar mulch and put it down in the flower bed. Danielle and I picked up 2 potted daisys, and 2 potted Mums for the front yard.....Boy the Bees are happy.
My father in law is the best. I dont know what we would do without him. Here is a listing of what has been done to the house so far:
New address numbers
New light for the front door
2 New lights for the garage door and all the electrical work in the garage. There were no lights there before.
2 electrical outlets in the ground, one near the front door and one near the garage door - for running lights outside.
All the white trim and the front door has been painted again
Stone pavers on both sides of the blacktop driveway, still being done.
Inside the house, The baring wall between the living room and now master bedroom is in the process of coming down
The closet that is in the dining room and the closet in the back bedroom have become a huge walkthrough closet. We are unsure if we want to blow the wall out in the guest bedroom and make it bigger and then add a closet, and also seal off the wall in the dining room....Or just seal off the wall in the dining room and make it a huge walk in closet....

Looks fantastic, you must be so happy that you have gotten so much done already. I knew you couldn't wait to get to work. Keep it up, you are making the place look great!
Is that an azalea bush next to your front door? I can't begin to explain the agony my DH has gone through trying to get rid of old overgrown one by our door.

What the small bush or the big bush on the left side of the door? The big bush was huge when we took ownership, my father in law trimmed it.....
Next spring we are going to take all the bushes out, go to cheap sams and buy all new bushes and flowers....The bushes in front of the house are ugly. We also have a rose bush that I got pricked by - like 19 times

I like what you did so far. It's nice to know someone handy (unlike me). The pavers make the driveway look really nice.

Yes they do - Next up we are going to seal the blacktop....and put in the lights in the ground.

Scott it looks great.
We did the same thing with our closet downstairs. We ended up closing off the wall in the dining room and made a huge walk in closet in the back room. It was the best thing we did! We love it. We had wrap around shelves in the closet put in. That closet has become a lifesaver. Not to mention we like having the wall in the dining room for a china hutch.
Good luck with the rest of the projects. It really is coming along nicely!

We are closing the wall off in the dining room.
This week we will have to go order our Pergo...I want a dark cherry color....That would go great with our dark furniture and the pale yellow color we plan to paint in that room...
We also have to start looking for sliding glass doors.....We are going to put them in the dining room heading out to the yard.

I meant the big bush.
We are ripping out the bushes too. We are paying someone to do the azaleas as they are at least 40 years old and you wouldn't believe how dense they are inside and how strong their roots are. It's costing us $100 to rip out two giant ones.
We have roses too and I decided to try to prune them. I got stuck, thorns grabbed my hair and DH had to come get me out. I looked like I lost a fight with a couple of cats by the time I was done.

oh man that must of been pretty funny lol....I only got pricked like 19 times....that bush is coming out and then we also have anothe prickly bush in the back yard we a re going to take out next year...The bushes are so close together and so overgrown

We just put in dark cherry laminate flooring in our dining & living rooms. It looks fantastic!

It actually was pretty funny especially because I was leaning kinda twisted in the bush and he was using hedge trimmers in the front of the house so I had to wait for him to turn them off so he could hear me yell, "help! I'm stuck in the rose bush!!!" I was laughing the whole time but now I look at that bush with scorn.
