Nicest hotel in Dominican Republic? and is October ok?
Thanks ladies! Just wondering if October is ok weather there if anyone has been. And, any good hotel recs?

We stayed at sun village resort and spa. My only complaint was too many kids.

you are going to get a lot of good recommendations because there are a lot of nice hotels in DR... we have been there twice and stayed at the Iberostar both times, love Iberostar hotels!!!!

I hope not. DH and I were supposed to HM there, but couldn't at the last minute...we were supposed to return for our anniversary next year.

We stayed at Breezes in Puerto Plata. I wouldnt say the rooms were that great but the resort itself was beautiful and had alot of amenities.

I would go for adults only, so Secrets Punta Cana would be my choice.
Of course, Casa De Campo is "top choice" but it's not AI.
October is still hurricane season so you run a risk anywhere in the Caribbean. Make sure you get insurance.

just came back from dr
so far we have stayed at the melia tropical and we just came back from sunscape.
we liked certain things about both places we would go back to the melia before we went back to sunscape.
good luck. i do hear that secrets is nice as well our friends are going there on there honeymoon in a few weeks.

I've been to Dominican Republic for the past 5 years with my family and we love it. We stay at the same hotel Ibeorstar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata. We know all the staff and they became a part of our family. Actually, we're planning for this January now. Can't wait!
I know October is still hurrricane season so, plan accordingly.

I go to Casa de Campo every year w/my company. I think you can get an all inclusive package. The golf course is beautiful.

I have at least 4 co-workers that went to the new RIU Palace in Punta Cana, they loved it!!! the building is very impressive, looks truly like a palace...
