I was reading yesterday that they've already planned for next season's schedule so that there won't be as many weeks off.
They are proposing to move it to 3 seven week sessions (there are 36 weeks in the TV season and only 21 episodes of a typical show).
So it would be on 7 solid weeks and then off for a few and then back for 7 solid weeks.
I think that's much better than the sporadic thing they've been doing this year!!
