Im tweaking my friends resume and trying to write her a cover letter...
How can i put that the reason she didnt work these last 2 years is bc she took caring of her dying father????
I dont want h to see her employment gap and pass her bc of it, but i also dont want to get personal in the cover letter....
Any suggestions??

You definitly should not mention it in the cover letter. If an employer is interested in her resume, that is the time it will come up. Don't volunteer any extra info upfront.

I agree. I wouldn't even mention the gap. If her qualifications are good, they'll call her.
When asked about it in person, she can say that she is took a leave of absence to care for terminally ill father. She should be able to say that face to face w/o tearing up - or as best she can. It's important not to make the interviewer feel uncomfortable.
