this has been a horrible weekend- update
so i went for my 7 week sonogram on friday and my doctor tells me that my baby has stopped growing... i told her my last period may have been off by a few days which maybe could affect the size.. so we do a blood test to see if my hcg is still elevated, which it is, but my progesterone is a little low.. now i have to wait till the end of the week to see if i still have a viable pregnancy. i am so depressed.
update: i talked to the dr last night, and she said my numbers were great, and that she was cautiously optomistic... but then i started spotting this morning....

I'm sorry. Try and stay positive - maybe they can give you progesterone supplements.

I am sorry to hear that, but why didn't they not give you progesterone supplements? Mine was very very low - almost to the point where I almost lost the baby, and they gave me Crinone and I have been taking this suppositories since my 6th week and now I am in my 11th and everything has been fine.

you know, she never even checked for a heart beat she just took one look at the size and said sorry.... the dr. on call this weekend did prescribe the progesterone gel, but i dont even know if my baby is still alive that i should be taking it.. since my hcg is still elevated does that mean the pregnancy is still active, or its still at the level from when the baby stopped growing???

Was this your first appointment since getting your BFP? If it was, then I would think that she might be off as far as growth is concerned, because I personally ovulated late, on CD22 and am 2 1/2 weeks less than what she thought by my last AF and all is well right now. I would call and ask more questions and if they gave you the supplements, I would def take them. How far along did she put you at?

I would call the office and ask - if they saw a heartbeat. And ask any other details. About the progesterone gel, I would take it anyway, cause if they baby is ok - this will help you and the baby. The doctor you saw this weekend, is it the doctor you usually see?

this was my second sonogram, the first i thought was almost 6 weeks and she just saw an empty sac, now at this one she saw only a fetal pole... i cant wait to talk to her today, i should have asked more questions at the appt. but i was losing it...

I understand, I think we all choke when we don't hear "great" news at our appointment and therefore don't ask any questions. If she saw the sac, then you must have been very newly pregnant, and if she saw the fetal pole...then you might have been 5 weeks. I was in my 5th week when they saw the sac and fetal pole and then in my 6th week when we saw the heartbeat. I think you should call and ask if she saw a heartbeat. If that was the first time they saw the fetal pole, then what does she have to compare it to, to say it stopped growing?

Maybe its just too early yet. I am sorry that you are going through this. I hope that you get good news. Usually dr's don't take you until you are definately a little further along so that they can see the heartbeat at that point.
