Can anyone recommend a hotel in Chelsea?
My friend is coming in from out of town, and I want a nice place to stay. Thanks.

Re: Can anyone recommend a hotel in Chelsea?
I spent a few nights years ago at the Chelsea Hotel. Despite it's being famous for the Spungen murder, it's an interesting place. It feels like an apartment complex. Some people do live there permanently. If she's looking for an experience, I'd recommend it; if she wants something more like a typical hotel then look elsewhere.
ETA: In my old job we'd sometimes recommend the Sheraton on 25th st and people always liked it.

Thanks, we would like a classy place, we don't care the cost.

Re: Can anyone recommend a hotel in Chelsea?
There is a new hotel off 7th, on 25th, I believe it is a Four Points by Sheraton. I never stayed there , but my old office was across the street & it it always seemed really nice & not sketchy at all. And I've stayed in other Four Points hotels and they are very classy.
MsG, that's not the the same Sheraton is it? I thought it was newish--from around the time of the Rebublican Convention. (Summer 04)
There is also the Chelsea Savoy on 23rd & 7th & a couple of places closer to Penn (not Chelsea, but not far, on 7th), the Hotel Pennsylvania & something that just changed names.

Yep, same Sheraton. (I left the city in Spring 05). I hear it's really nice.
