Dear Engaged Friends and Family...
I love you dearly, and I'm so very happy that you have found true love and are getting married, but must you all do it during the summer of 2006? Because I now officially have been invited to/know I am being invited to 7 weddings between April 15th and October 8th. And I'm still waiting for FIL to announce his wedding date, which will likely be at some point this summer.
DH and I are going to be moving into a box in order to be able to afford all of your gifts.
I would appreciate your consideration.

Yeah - it's getting a bit rediculous...
Before 2004 I had been to 3 weddings... Then it started
Invited to 6 in 2004
4 + mine in 2005
And now 7, possibly 8 if FIL gets married this summer in 2006.
And I already know of 2 for next year

We had/have 8 weddings and 2 Bat Mitzvahs between April 30 and July 15th. Then another wedding this fall and an other Bar Mitzvah as well. Some of those functions are on the same weekend and on the same day.
And people laughed at us for geting married in the winter. At least we made it easy for people to budget. We had no competition for dates with anyone else.

We had our wedding in January, 2 weddings (Sat. & Sun) in February, 2 weddings in April, a wedding in June, my sister's wedding in July, another wedding in July, a wedding in August in Vermont, and SIL's wedding in Sept! I am all wedding-ed out!

We just got an invitation to an orthodox wedding where the women and men are separated for the ceremony and dancing, and the women are asked to show up in a dress that goes below the knee, high neckline and long sleeves, for a wedding in the middle of the summer. Talk about a major PITA

Where do you even find something like that?
I have a lot of weddings & showers this year too ( not as many as Deb though!) & I am excited to go to them all, but I worry that I am skimping on the gifts a little to be able to afford it all.

Just be aware that for us the "Summer of 9 weddings" was followed two years later by the "Summer of 7 Baby Showers".

That was like our year last year!!!! We had 8 total weddings between July-November, ours being the last...We had 4 of them within the 6 weeks before our own wedding

Tell me about it, we had 6 in 2003 including BIL's. None in 2004. 3 in 2005 and our own. 3 for 2006 (one is tomorrow night) and so far 1 in 2007. By the end of next year most of our friends well be married thank God! We're running out of money too!
