you invite them to come over and you buy all kinds of food and then they never call you to say if they are coming or not and they dont show up?

WOW that is really really rude. I only had that happen once... with DH's SIL and her BF...we made this big meal and they called and canceled at the last minute.
I would be soooo p!ssed.

That did happen to me once. She never called at all. Actually the same person flaked out on more than one occasion, saying when they were supposed to be at our house she suddenly felt sick...My real friends would definitely call though and say they weren't coming.

yes, my friend had a candle party this past friday. a lot of our good friends either didn't either call or didn't show up. when we tried to call them they didn't answer their phones either. it is very rude!

That's so rude. This has never happened to us, but we have had people cancel at the last minute after all the food, etc was purchased.

I had a friend who had confirmed dinner plans the night before, so I shopped/cooked, etc. Couldn't reach her on her home line or cell. She just never showed up. When I called her on it the next day she said she forgot our plans and had gone out with someone else. Then this chick has the nerve to question why we don't make plans anymore

No. That is BEYOND rude.
I did have a friend once who never showed up when 3 of us were supposed to go out, and she just never showed. A few years later the other girl bumped into her and she swore up and down that she called and spoke to her. She didn't. People can be such airheads!

That happened to DH and I once with one couple. We confirmed with them the day before- went out grocery shopping for a nice meal, and then they cancelled a few hours before.
From now on, we ONLY meet that couple out for dinner, so no $$ is wasted.

No, but i have the friends who come over, eat my food, drink everything in my fridge and NEVER EVER bring anything or invite us over. Or if they DO invite us over, NEVER offer us anything or even have anything offer us. Whatever. They're mostly single guys, I take it they just don't get it. But I'm not their mommy.
